H Exp – Electricity and Electronics 06 – The out-of-balance Wheatstone bridge
Aim – To investigate the relationship between the current through the limiting resistor and the change in resistance of one of the resistors in the Wheatstone Bridge.
Instructions
The Wheatstone bridge is balanced
Increase the resistance of the resistance board in 10 Ω steps by clicking on the right of the x10 Ω dial.
Decrease the resistance by clicking on the left of the dial.
▪ Increase the resistance of the resistance board in 10 Ω steps, noting the value of the out-of-balance current each time
▪ Plot a graph of change in resistance, ΔR (Ω), on the x-axis and out-of-balance current, I, (μA) on the y-axis.
