H Exp – Mechanics 15 – Impulse

Aim – To compare different times of contact for different balls bouncing on a hard surface

Instructions

▪ Release the hard rubber ball and note the time of contact between the ball and the surface. This is the time during the bounce
▪ Repeat several times and obtain an average time for the bounce
▪ Repeat the experiment for the other two balls
▪ From the results, match the ball used to the graph that could show the variation of force with time during the bounce
