H Exp – Radiation and Matter 14 – The switching action of an n-channel enhancement MOSFET

Aim – To investigate the relationship between the input p.d. and the output p.d. for a MOSFET, and to determine the switching p.d.

Instructions

The input p.d. (V_GS) can be increased by clicking on the right side of the potentiometer.
It can be decreased by clicking on the left side of the potentiometer.
The lower voltmeter measures (V_GS) and the upper voltmeter measures (V_B).

▪ Increase V_GS in 0.2 V steps and record the values of V_GS and V_B.
▪ Draw a graph to show the relationship between V_B and V_GS
▪ Determine the switching p.d. for this MOSFET.
